As part of the SolidWorks Student license, schools and universities with a class size of 60 students or more can qualify students for the Premium license (also called the Student Engineering Kit). It comes with a SOLIDWORKS serial number that students can use to install SOLIDWORKS directly on their PC and is usually free.

The SOLIDWORKS Student Access License takes you out of the classroom to extend your learning experience. The Student Access License is designed for students and educators that currently use the SOLIDWORKS Education Edition at their school. Certain restrictions apply. Student Access is Included for Schools That Meet the Required Conditions

With the SOLIDWORKS Student Access program, you can have your own license to use the program on your own devices whenever and wherever your imagination needs it. If your institution uses SOLIDWORKS, you’re probably eligible for a free license!

Basically Solidworks is not free for Students. However, you can ask your institution if you are eligible to receive the free one.
