What is the requirements for Python? | As we know Python is a popular programming language that is often used to write scripts for operating systems. It is useful enough to use in web development and application design.

In this article, we will talk about the hardware and software requirements for Python.  We can download Python from https://www.python.org/downloads.

Operating systems for Python:

Windows 7 or 10 or 11

Mac OS X 10.11 or later, 64-bit

Linux: RHEL 6/7, 64-bit (almost all libraries also work on Ubuntu)

CPU Architecture for Python:

Dual core Intel Core i5 or similar

x86 64-bit CPU (Intel / AMD architecture)

Installing Python on Windows

Prerequisites:

  • A system running Windows
  • Command Prompt (comes with windows by default).

Steps to download Python:

1. We can download Python from the official Python website  
2.  Select the latest version.
3. Choose between Windows x86-64 executable installer  or  Windows x86 executable installer  link.
4.  After downloading Python, run Python Installer and add Python version to PATH check boxes.
5.  Select Install now.

  • Homebrew(Package manager on Mac OS).

Steps to install Python with Brew:

1.  Enter the brew command into the terminal 

--brew install python3.

2.  Set the PATH environment variable.
3.  Add the following line to ~/.profile

export PATH=/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin:$PATH.

4.  Python installation directory looks like below, you should add it to PATH.

PATH="/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/3.6/bin:${PATH}".
